Wisson Hill joins Heritage Open Days 2026

Wisson Hill will be open to the public for the first time in September 2026. The owner, Amanda Billingsley, will show visitors around the 500-year old house she has restored and researched, ready to answer questions.

Unfortunately all 2026 tours are now fully booked. Please do not come on the day without booking, as insurance limits numbers, but hopefully you can visit Wisson Hill during Heritage Open Days in 2027. If you would like to leave your name in case places become available due to cancellations, please use the contact form.

Tours of the Tudor house will run at the following times:

Saturday 12th September 2-3pm – FULLY BOOKED

Sunday 13th September 2-3 pm – FULLY BOOKED

Thursday 17th September 6.30-7.30pm – FULLY BOOKED

Tours will last up to an hour and visitors will be shown:

• The original structure built in 1530
• Modifications carried out in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century
• Evidence of life in the house, including cooking facilities
• Apotropaic markings: burn and witch marks
• Small finds from the restoration project, including pottery and clay pipe fragments
• Wills and inventories that give an insight into the people who lived in this house during and since Tudor times
